Marrdreg is the first Minion on the Minion List and one of the first you encounter as well as Terfrayd in the Beetle Forest and your journey overall. It is a strong minion by attack standards and very powerful when left pure or as part of a merge. It resides at the very end of the Beetle Forest right near the Forest Warp Platform and right outside of Koris' Cottage. Mardregg (and Terfrayd) can also be found in various parts of the Dragonfly Forest.

- Marrdreg (as well as Terfrayd) are the only minions that appear in more than one forest in the whole game, exclusing the Eternal Corridor.
- An Evolved Divine Beast called Mardreck appears in Jade Cocoon 2, but is Fire-Elemental. Despite this, an Air/Wind-Elemental Evolved Divine Beast appears also, called Bonedreg.
- Marrdreg, as well as it's relatives from the -Frayd family are the most prominent minions in the Minion Merging Glitch, where they almost always appear as the base minion.
