Hello,
Happy New Year to all of you from this wiki. Hope you had a fun Christmas & New Year's Eve. I'm still kinda busy with studying, but wanna do some little things in the wiki. Will get to it in some time.
Hello,
Happy New Year to all of you from this wiki. Hope you had a fun Christmas & New Year's Eve. I'm still kinda busy with studying, but wanna do some little things in the wiki. Will get to it in some time.
Ok :)
Already took a small look at the Version Differences (couldn't resist) and wow there's a lot of stuff. Only knew about the big ones, like that it only has the story minions in the story so you can get all the secret items bevorhand like the Divine Garb and that there is no minion list.
Also wonder if it was intentional from the game localizers to include extra minions in the story thus making it possible to get all the rare stuff before the Eternal Corridor much easier. I mean they probably wanted to increase the variety in the story so it could have been an accident, which would make this a weird coincidence.
Oh that's pretty good. Maybe I will add some stuff when I go through the game & find something, definitely interested in the difficulty of the japanese version.
By the way, can I add videos to the reference-section? I still have this vid from a few years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNJuksRlK5k , which shows the different title screens (but I don't know if that's all of them).
I would like to make a site on this wiki which covers the differences between the japanese & other versions (if there isn't one yet). I think there are lists on gamefaqs already, but I guess it could be fun to discover & try it out myself :)
Only problem is that I don't know Japanese. So can't spot any text differences.
So can we take this information for all versions of the game? Because I started playing the japanese one and it's harder than other versions, you do less damage (still figuring everything out). I don't think they would change the drop rates, haven't started farming yet so can't guess from feeling if it's the same as the European release.
Found it: http://thejadecocoonproject.wikia.com/wiki/User:DanPMK/JC1
Now I finally know why it was so hard to get any of the beads and other accessories before the Eternal Corridor even though they were listed as common drops, the common & the rare drop both have a 1% chance with some minions. I spent hours in the Bettle & Dragonfly Forest of the Neetherworld farming Srikartas and Mugoos just to get a perfect story savegame.
It's also nice to know the drop rate of valuable items like Autumn Moon or the Divine Garb, I guessed that they would have a low drop rate.
Still good to see that there're some people here from time to time!
@Lexichu The thing with the guidebook is pretty awesome, I didn't think there would be a source for the drop rates. At some point I opened a page on this wiki where the contents of the guidebook were being translated by another user (but didn't know what it was at the time), however now I looked in the forum and didn't find anything, do you know where I can find it?
And I just saw the artbook for the first time! Always loved the art style of the game.
Hello!
Around a year ago I was active in this wiki when I was trying to get 100% in Jade Cocoon and seeing everything the game has to offer. I only helped out with very little things but it was my first time participating in a wiki and it was fun. Unfortunately I was busy with other stuff after that and I still don't have the 100%.
But I really like this game and I wanted to help out in the wiki again. So first I wanted to ask if some people are still active here from time to time. And if any new big discoveries happened in the last year, e.g. finding out the exact drop rates for every item in the game. Are there any specific parts of the wiki where one can help out?
I also started playing the japanese version of the game. Want to see the differences beween the versions & different voice acting. And at some point play Jade Cocoon 2 if it's good.
Huh, interesting.
And maybe there is just 1 key in the forest and you have to choose which chest you open. Even though it would be kinda weird if that is the case because you have enough keys to open every chest in the other forests. But in the end the items aren't really essential, so it isn't that big of a deal.
So I was playing Jade Cocoon today and opened the first chest in the Spider Forest of the Netherworld which contained 2 Great Walnuts. I had 19 Great Walnuts in my inventory before I opened it and after I opened it I still had 19. Could it be that because the item cap is at 20 the game just didn't give me the Great Walnuts?
I'm playing on the German PAL Version, can anyone confirm this for other versions as well?
Also, did someone find a 2nd Skeleton Key in the Spider Forest of the Nth.? I only found one where the Divine Tablet in the original forest was.
ok, thank you! This game really has a lot of unknown stuff, great stuff you're doing with this wiki.
